Wie Zuhause explores American road trip iconography, isolation, and uncanniness. Guided by the song Wie Zuhause, by German rapper Alligatoah, I look at longing for a feeling that one has never personally experienced themselves, but absorbed as a societal value. Using exaggerated suiting elements and contoured seamlines, combined with a variety of plaid wool suiting fabrics, this collection expresses a yearning for an unreachable sense of belonging.
